The Saharawi Ambassador in Pretoria received at the seat of te South African Parliament
Pretoria, 11/03/2006 (SPS) The Saharawi Ambassador to South Africa, Ubbi Bechraya, was received on Thursday at the seat of the South African Parliament by the President of the Parliament, Mrs. Gertrude Monkila, to whom he handed over a message from the President of the Saharawi Parliament, indicated a press release publicised by the Saharawi Embassy on Thursday in Pretoria.
The meetings between the two parties tackled the "the international dynamic aiming to decolonise the Western Sahara, the engagement of the Saharawi Government to support the South African Parliament, been the continental democratic institution in which the African peoples have a lot of hopes for the deepening of democracy and development", the press release stressed.
Mrs. Monkila vividly thanked the Saharawi Government for the "support to the representatives of the Saharawi Parliament in the works of works of the African Parliament" and renewed "the constant support of its institution, such as the African Union, to the inalienable right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence", the text added.
The meeting was attended by the Councillor to the Saharawi Embassy, Mr. Tayeb Sedigh, and by Mrs. Chubi Moukorassi, Assistant of the President of the South African Parliament. (SPS)
